Thank you for your interest in Indigenous Geotags!

Just by being here you are already involved in learning more about the indigenous stories of public land. Interested in getting more involved in this movement? Here are a few things you can do.

Make your own Geotag

We can't do this alone. This project has to be collaborative. When you are posting picture on social media, create an indigenous geotag for that space. Let us know and we'll share with our community!

Learn how to make a geotag on Instagram and Facebook here.

Become a contributor

You are the expert on your own land and in your own language. We do our best, but local contributors can provide information we'd never be able to find in our research. Indigenous names of specific places are especially hard to find. Or maybe you are just an awesome researcher and blogger and want to help out. Either way, join our team!

Spread the Word

Tell your friends and family why place names are important. There's no better way to make an impact than to become an active advocate yourself. Join now and make an impact!
